Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount Reportedly Suffered MCL Sprain

BOSTON (CBS) – Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount will likely miss time in training camp after he reportedly suffered a sprained MCL in practice.

The Boston Globe reported that Blount suffered the MCL sprain in his right knee on Friday, but is expected to be ready for the regular season.

Blount will be suspended for the team's season opener against Pittsburgh for possession of marijuana.

The Patriots running back missed early action in training camp after reportedly failing his condition test. But he returned to the field on Aug. 1 and was having a strong week of practices.

But on Friday, Blount went down during practice. He remained on the ground before walking off the field with a trainer.

New England's backfield may have taken another hit on Saturday as Travaris Cadet left the morning practice early with an unknown injury of his own.
