Boston is host to many lively bars that offer a wonderfully entertaining evening for the older crowd, as well as the more contemporary patrons. There are live, DJ and juke box music venues that offer new and old tunes for the more mature audience. Libations, music, good company and more are just waiting for the “oldies” at many Boston bars from downtown to the outskirts of the city.
Alibi Bar & Lounge
215 Charles St.
Boston, MA 02114
The Liberty Hotel, the site of the former Charles Street Jail, is now a hotel, restaurant and lounge facility. The cell gates and window bars remain in this popular, classy bar located in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston. Ironically, Alibi is set in the area of the old “drunk tank” of the previous jail; patrons also enjoy libations on the outdoor patio, weather permitting. There is an entertaining DJ at Alibi from Thursday through Saturday evenings for this mostly older crowd to enjoy as they sip and share cocktails at this high-end bar.
Scullers Jazz Club
