Located in Coolidge Corner, Osaka is open for both lunch and dinner, seven days a week. This Brookline eatery is the only Japanese steak house featuring hibachi in the entire area, including downtown Boston. The restaurant has two floors and features the hibachi dining room, additional dining areas, function rooms, a sushi bar and even a karaoke bar and lounge. It offers free meals for the birthday boy/girl if you host a birthday party there with four or more people. Osaka also provides a special for kids where they eat free from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Located at the Square One Mall, just 15 minutes from downtown Boston, is Tokyo, which is owned by the same company as Bisuteki in Cambridge. This spot offers Shabu and other soups, sushi, salads, teriyaki chicken, seafood or beef, and then specialties on the hibachi, which is the highlight on the menu. From onion volcanoes built and lit on fire before your eyes to fried rice quickly and expertly prepared, a meal with friends and family around the hibachi is sure to be memorable. You get soup, salad, a shrimp appetizer and then entrees ranging from $15 for tofu or veggies up to $28 for lobster tails.

Located a half an hour from Boston is Samba Steak & Sushi. If you order off the hibachi menu, your meal comes with an organic salad, shrimp appetizer and white, brown or vegetable fried rice. In addition, you can choose to have one, two or three proteins with prices ranging from $23 to $31. The options include sirloin steak, chicken, Bonsai Scallops and more. There is a wide variety of sake for sipping and there are also sushi and sashimi combo meals and bento boxes.
