Bill Belichick Supports Doug Flutie On Instagram, Says He Has 'Great Feet' [VIDEO]

By Matt Dolloff, CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) -- So this is the new normal? Bill Belichick is (somewhat) embracing social media now? After posting a video on Linda Holliday's Instagram thanking Patriots fans for their birthday wishes, he posted another clip - and his career rate of social media posts absolutely skyrocketed.

This time, Holliday posted a video late Monday night during Dancing With The Stars, on which former Patriots quarterback Doug Flutie is a contestant. Holliday and her daughters were in attendance and declared themselves in Flutie's corner. Belichick offered his own unique message of support, as only the Master of InstantFace can do.

"I'm sure things will go well; you've got great feet," says Belichick, before the video awkwardly cuts out mid-sentence, just like Belichick's last video that ended out of nowhere. It's as if Belichick can't hit the "stop" button soon enough.

The video aired on the show, when host Tom Bergeron remarked, "I'm from the Boston area. ... I think I might make a smiling Bill Belichick voicemail my new ringtone." Flutie addressed the apparent surprise of fans who didn't realize Belichick actually had a beating heart, telling the Boston Herald: "Yeah, everyone is used to seeing Bill when he's in front of the media and is trying to be tight-lipped and not to give any information thing away.

"[Belichick] has a dry wit to him. He's funny, he's fun to be around. He loves to get outdoors and fish and golf. Bill's a fun guy."

I personally love this newfound social media presence with Belichick, but at the same time, I'm not sure I really want him to be the lovable fumbling old fogey struggling to use social media properly. As much as it would be nice for the coach to endear himself to fans outside of New England, I might rather everyone still hate him and the Patriots. It's good fuel for continued success.

That being said, it's safe to assume you won't see videos like this once the Patriots season, or even training camp, kicks off. But it would be cool if they just said "screw it" and set up the coach with his own social media accounts. One can only hope this account ends up being real...
