Report: Patriots Sign DE Chris Long
BOSTON (CBS) – The New England Patriots have signed defensive end Chris Long to a one-year deal, according to ESPN's Trey Wingo.
Long has spent his entire eight-year career with the Rams, collecting 54.5 sacks.
On Twitter, Long said he was thankful for the opportunity.
Long is the son of former Raiders great and Fox broadcaster Howie Long.
The signing comes hours after the Patriots traded Chandler Jones to the Arizona Cardinals for a 2016 second-round draft pick and offensive guard Jonathan Cooper.
