Toucher & Rich: Angry Dick Flavin Calls In

BOSTON (CBS) - There was plenty of pomp and circumstance Monday afternoon at Fenway Park for the Red Sox home opener.

The team honored the family of Martin Richard, Pete Frates was given a one-day contract from general manager Ben Cherington, and Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady threw out the ceremonial first pitch to David Ortiz.

All in all it was flawless execution by the Red Sox in front of the sellout crowd and the millions watching at home, save for one moment, which came in the top of the third inning in the NESN broadcast booth.

Red Sox poet laureate Dick Flavin had one job, and that was to recite the poem that he created just for Opening Day. Midway through the poem, Flavin, who is up there in age now, forgot the rest of his lines.

98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich recapped the festivities from yesterday, most notably Flavin's broadcast blooper.

Listen below:

After the first segment, Toucher & Rich received a phone call from an angry Dick Flavin.

But is it really Dick Flavin? The guys can't tell.

Listen below and judge for yourself:
