Arrest Made In Disappearance Of NH Teen Abigail Hernandez

CONWAY, NH (CBS) – An arrest has been made in the disappearance of Abigail Hernandez.

Nathaniel E. Kibby, 34, was arrested and charged with one count of felony kidnapping for knowingly confining Abigail Hernandez on October 9, 2013, in Conway, New Hampshire, with a purpose to commit an offense against her.

Kibby was arrested at his Gorham home Monday afternoon without incident.

Abby Hernandez, 15, was reunited with her family on Sunday, July 20. She went missing after leaving Kennett High School at the end of the school day on October 9.

Kibby was arrested after Hernandez provided the police with details of her kidnapping. He will be arraigned Tuesday in Conway District Court.

Investigators worked through the night on Monday at a mobile home deep in the woods they believe Hernandez may have been held. Neighbors said a SWAT team was at the location at noon on Monday.

"They're coming after Nat. Yay!" said neighbor Verne Whitehouse. "Actually, nobody really expected this from him. They expected maybe shoot somebody or blow something up, not to come to this, This is all a big surprise to everybody."

On Monday, Abby's mother< Zenya, described the moment she saw was reunited with her daughter.

"She was very thin. She lost a lot of weight. Very pale. She had a look in her eyes that I've never, ever seen before. And that's something that's haunting me and think will haunt for the rest of my life," her mother, Zenya Hernandez said on a national morning show.
