Daily Talker: Do You Think It's Right To Punish Students For Watching An Inappropriate Video?

High school and middle school students in Beverly are learning a tough lesson.
They're being punished for watching a video.
But not just any video.
Here's the scenario:
An eighth grade girl sent her eighth grade boyfriend a video the district describes as "suggestive."
The two broke up.
Guess what happened next?
The boy showed the video to some of his friends...who sent it to some of their friends -- you get the idea.
Now the kids are paying the price.
Half a dozen high schoolers have been suspended.
Nearly a dozen middle school students will learn their punishment today.
The district is using this as a "teachable" moment about the dangers of sharing inappropriate material.
Do you think it's right to punish students for just watching the video?
