BOSTON (CBS) - New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez went to Gillette Stadium late Thursday morning, as a flock of media followed him, waiting for the latest developments in a homicide investigation and his alleged role in it.

Hernandez left his home in North Attleboro just after 11 a.m. in a white Audi SUV.  Television news helicopters followed the vehicle as it went to the stadium.  Hernandez parked, looked up at the helicopters and walked into the stadium.

He left Gillette at 12:15 p.m. and drove off to Boston as the news helicopters followed the Audi's every turn.  He eventually pulled into a parking garage near Boylston Street to meet with his attorney.

At the same time, police were back at a crime scene near his home, apparently searching for evidence.

The body of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd of Dorchester was found Monday in a field in North Attleboro, about half-a-mile from the luxurious home of Hernandez. He had been shot in the head.

Lloyd was driving an SUV that had been rented in the name of Hernandez.  He was dating a woman who is the sister of Hernandez's fiancee.

At first, Hernandez was cooperating with investigators, but now, he is not talking to police.  He has hired the Boston law firm of Ropes and Gray and, apparently, they have advised Hernandez to keep quiet.

Michael Fee, an attorney at the firm, says Hernandez met with his legal counsel Thursday. "His vehicle is still here," Fee told reporters Thursday night. "My client is gone for the day."

Fee would not talk about the investigation, but said some media reports are inaccurate. "We're going to let the process play out," he said.

Fee released a brief statement Wednesday:

"It has been widely reported in the media that the state police have searched the home of our client, Aaron Hernandez, as part of an ongoing investigation. Out of respect for that process, neither we nor Aaron will have any comment about the substance of that investigation until it has come to a conclusion."

On Wednesday evening, the Bristol County District Attorney's office asked the public for help finding a silver mirror cover connected to the investigation.

Bristol District Attorney Samuel Sutter says the mirror, "is believed to have been broken off a vehicle, and may be visible along a route of travel between Dorchester and North Attleboro."
