BOSTON (CBS) – The New Hampshire man who says he lost his life-savings on a carnival game, only to win a giant stuffed banana with dreadlocks, has his money back.

Henry Gribbohm dropped $2,600 on a game at a Manchester carnival run by New Hampshire-based Fiesta Shows in an effort to win an Xbox Kinect.  He lost all of the cash and didn’t win the Xbox.

After the story went viral, popular satire website CollegeHumor.com said they would buy the dreadlocked banana for $2,600 if the post on their website could get 26,000 “likes” on Facebook.

If the post got more than 30,000 “likes,” the website said it would buy Gribbohm’s banana and the Xbox Kinect.

This weekend, CollegeHumor’s Streeter Seidell drove to a meeting spot in Connecticut to see Gribbohm in person and make good on their promise.

While Gribbohm is now banana-less, he is the owner of an Xbox Kinect and got his $2,600 life-savings back.

Gribbohm said he will make a donation to The One Fund Boston and set up college funds for his kids.
