"We'll be off the roads, there wont be any construction activity between Wednesday to the following Monday afternoon," Highway Administrator Frank DePaola said.

DePaola said much heavier traffic is expected on the Mass Pike Friday through the holiday.

Extra toll takers and State Police will be on the roadways to help.

At Logan Airport, it's expected to be very busy starting this weekend.

"Whether it's our real-time traffic data, checking our Websites or the new program we now have between Massport and the T, free silver line service, we ask our customers to take advantage of all these tools to make the holiday safe and enjoyable," State Transportation Secretary Richard Davey said.
