Davey: Attleboro I-95 Wire Repair Should Not Cause Major Traffic Issues On Sunday

ATTLEBORO (CBS) - State Transportation Secretary Richard Davey says drivers should not expect any significant delays on Sunday on I-95 in Attleboro as crews work to fix power lines that were hit by a tractor trailer on Thursday.

National Grid crews will close down lanes of I-95 north and south in Attleboro between 5:30 am until 2:00pm Sunday to reinstall transmission lines.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Mark Katic talked to Sec. Davey

They will be working between exits 4 and 5.

"Bottom line is they need to do the work, but we've also told them they need to do the work without interfering significantly with traffic," Secretary Davey said. "If there has to be a total closure of the road, it should only be for 10 or 15 minutes."

Secretary Davey says because traffic is typically light on a Sunday, the state is not recommending that drivers seek alternative routes.
