BOSTON (CBS) – It’s been Christmas in July for the Boston Celtics, as they closed out their Orlando Summer League schedule with a 94-73 win over the Magic.
Dionte Christmas, who has bounced around Europe the last three years, scored 21 points, pulled down five rebounds and dished out four assists as Boston finished their time in Orlando with a 4-1 record.
Christmas’ strong play throughout the week, averaging 12.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest, could earn him a training camp invite come October.
Second-year guard E’Twaun Moore bounced back nicely from an off-game on Thursday, scoring 18 points on 6-for-10 shooting. Moore handled the point guard duties throughout the game, finishing with two assists and three steals in his 23 minutes on the floor.
First-rounder Jared Sullinger was given the day off after looking impressive throughout the week, but that allowedFab Melo to play the longest he has all week. The 22nd overall pick got the start and played nearly 23 minutes, pulling down 10 rebounds to go with his five points.
