Red Sox Send Email Promoting Tickets For Youkilis' Return With White Sox

BOSTON (CBS) -- Kevin Youkilis might have still been in the air flying to join his new team while his old team was already using him for some marketing help.

The Red Sox sent out an email to fans on Monday morning, inviting them to purchase tickets for Youkilis' return with the White Sox in a four-game series at Fenway Park beginning on July 16.

The email reads, "Head to Fenway Park and welcome Kevin Youkilis back for the first time as a member of the Chicago White Sox on July 16-19!" The email subject line said, "Welcome Youkilis back for the first time as a member of the Chicago White Sox on July 16-19."

The Red Sox used Kevin Youkilis to promote ticket sales for the Red Sox-White Sox series in July.

Youkilis was traded from the Red Sox to the White Sox on Sunday afternoon, after he received a standing ovation when leaving the game against the Braves.

Tickets for the White Sox' visit to Boston remain available from the Red Sox' official website, including the option of purchasing 10 tickets together in the grandstand on the 16th, 10 tickets together in an outfield box for the 17th, 18th and 19th. The Red Sox are currently riding a 10-plus year sellout streak, though its accuracy has been called into question this season, particularly after a Boston Globe report showed not all tickets to every game are sold.
