Authorities say David Hobson should be considered armed and dangerous.

The search was concentrated in the woods in the Alfred/Sanford area of Maine, the same area where an SUV stolen from Wakefield, New Hampshire was found Saturday night.

Public safety spokesman Steve McCausland said they found evidence inside the SUV leading them to believe Hobson stole the vehicle after escaping from a county jail in Ossipee, New Hampshire.

"There was a significant amount of bloody clothing, gauze that confirmed prison authorities' suspicions that he most likely seriously cut himself on the razor wire as he scaled the fence," said McCausland.

Authorities believe Hobson may have escaped prison to settle a score.

"He was out to get two individuals he had a grudge against. Those individuals have been notified. They're safe," said McCausland.

Police are also searching for a blue Honda Accord stolen from Sanford that may be connected to Hobson.

Hobson's father Glenn has already been arrested for leaving a stash of supplies just outside his house for his son.
