Chung, Spikes Miss Practice For Pats

FOXBORO (CBS) – The New England Patriots were without safety Patrick Chung and linebacker Brandon Spikes at practice on Wednesday as the team gets ready for their Sunday tilt with the New York Jets.

Both starters were injured in last Sunday's 24-20 loss to the New York Giants. Chung injured his ankle going for an interception in the fourth quarter. He stayed in the game, but did have to miss one play. On that play, Sergio Brown took his spot and was flagged for a pass interference. Chung returned for the final three plays of the Giants drive.

Spikes suffered an MCL sprain in the loss and is considered day-to-day.

With Chung out and Josh Barrett being placed on the IR the Patriots are down to two healthy safeties in practice, Brown and James Ihedigbo.
