Report: Brandon Spikes Has Sprained MCL

FOXBORO (CBS) - Patriots linebacker reportedly suffered a sprained MCL in Sunday's loss to the Giants, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

According to the report, Spikes is considered week-to-week with the injury.

On Monday, coach Bill Belichick said there's no indication Spikes will miss an extended amount of time with the injury.

"He's having some tests done today and we'll see how he responds. It's hard to tell right after the game – a lot of adrenaline going and all that. Take a look at it today and see what it looks like tomorrow. Sometimes those things clear up and they're bruises; sometimes they're more than that and it takes a little bit longer," said Belichick.

Belichick added that it's not known yet whether Spikes can practice on Wednesday.

Spikes has 44 tackles this season.
