Rondo Practices, Will Start In Game 4
BOSTON (CBS) – Rajon Rondo hit the practice floor for the Boston Celtics on Monday and will start in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Miami Heat.
Rondo participated in the team’s shoot around on Monday, just two days after dislocating his left elbow during Boston’s 97-81 Game 3 win over the Heat. He had an MRI and CAT scan at New England Baptist Hospital on Sunday, which Celtics spokesman Jeff Twiss said came out negative
Rondo landed awkwardly on his elbow after getting tangled up with Dwayne Wade in the third quarter Saturday night. He returned to the floor in the fourth quarter after having the elbow popped back into place in the locker room.
Rondo finished with six points and 11 assists in 35 minutes. He played the entire fourth quarter in Game 3.
Guard Delonte West (rotator cuff) and center Shaquille O’Neal (calf/Achilles) were also on the floor for Boston and are expected to play.
Heat forward Udonis Haslem, who has been out since November, is expected to be activated before Game 4.
