Mass General Hospital Opens Surge ICU Due To Increased COVID Patients Following Holidays
BOSTON (CBS) – Mass General Hospital has opened a surge intensive care unit to deal with increases in COVID patients.
Hospital officials said regular ICU beds have been full for about a month, mostly due to the post-holiday surge.
MGH is still working to create more ICU capacity, even though the surge has leveled off a bit over the last week.
As of Sunday, there are an estimated 98,476 active cases in Massachusetts.
