Masks Placed On Boston Marathon Statues In Hopkinton During Coronavirus Outbreak

HOPKINTON (CBS) -- Boston Marathon statues in Hopkinton are now covered with fabric masks during the COVID-19 pandemic.

They were put there "as a reminder that we all have a part to play in fighting the coronavirus," according to the 26.2 Foundation.

The masks were made by Hopkinton High School senior Emily Karp.

The Boston Marathon was scheduled for April 20. For the first time in the marathon's history, the race was postponed. Due to coronavirus concerns, it will now be held on Sept. 14.
