Malcolm Butler Receives New Truck For Super Bowl Heroics

BOSTON (CBS) -- A little over a week following his Super Bowl XLIX heroics, Malcolm Butler finally has his new truck.

Now he can drive it all around the snow covered streets of New England.

Butler received his new Chevy Colorado pickup on Tuesday at Clay Chevrolet in Norwood. The truck was originally going to be awarded to quarterback Tom Brady, who was named MVP of the Patriots 28-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks, but Brady wanted to make sure the undrafted rookie received a "thank you" for his game-saving interception at the one-yard line in final minute of the game.

So after a quick audible by Brady and Chevrolet, the truck was awarded to Butler. On Tuesday, the defensive back couldn't have been happier.

"[Brady and I] had a meeting and he was just like, 'Congratulations on a big play. You can have the keys to that truck,'" Butler explained Tuesday. "Tom is a great guy for doing that. I couldn't have done all this without my teammates."

Butler admitted that his life has changed quite a bit over the last couple of weeks. In addition to all the phone calls and voicemails he's received, Butler has become a household name since picking off Russell Wilson to save the Super Bowl for New England.

The day after the game he was in Disneyland, and this past weekend he was with Julian Edelman as the two presented the award for "Best Rock Album" at The Grammys.

"It's something new and I'm not really used to all the attention," he said. "I'm enjoying the moment. It's been great."

And don't think Butler is about to let one play, and a shiny new truck, be the end of his NFL story. The rookie may be re-living his heroics from the Super Bowl, but he also has his sights set on next season.

"I just don't want one play to describe me as a player. I have more to prove," he said confidently.
