WATCH: Paul Pierce Can't Wait To Get Back To Boston

BOSTON (CBS) -- It's pretty clear that after a 15-year career as a member of the Celtics, Paul Pierce loves Boston.

Ever since he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets during the summer of 2013 Pierce has professed his love for the city, and it appears that love just grows stronger the longer he is away.

Pierce, now a member of the Wizards, is excited to return once again when the Celtics host Washington Sunday afternoon at the TD Garden.

The Truth was the latest contributing editor for "The Players' Tribune" -- the website started by Derek Jeter to give athletes a podium online -- and he gave us a great video that shows just how deep his love for Boston runs.

The video, titled "Back To Boston," shows Pierce getting out of his ride to the TD Garden to greet some fans while he walks to the arena.

"It's like a second home to me," Pierce said of Boston. "Especially the Gah-den."

Pierce is so excited for Sunday's game, he shows up at the TD Garden a day early. He then jokes about trying to crash on Rajon Rondo's couch (however, there was no mention of any breakfast with his former teammate).

If there isn't a spot on Rondo's couch, Pierce shouldn't have an issue finding a Celtics fan willing to give him a place to crash. It's the least we can do after his 15 years in green, and his undying love for the city of Boston.
