Lowe's Scraps Store, Ends Lynn Vs Salem Court Battle
SALEM (CBS) - A dispute between Salem and Lynn over whether Lowe's should be allowed to build near the border of the two cities came to an abrupt end this week.
Lowe's decided to back out of a plan to build $25 million development.

The city of Lynn had opposed the project because of the expected traffic it would add to Highland Avenue.
They took Salem to court over the issue and have been battling ever since.
Earlier this week, Lowe's announced it was closing 20 stores in 15 states, including three in New Hampshire and one in Massachusetts.
