Family Ties At Center Of Escaped Inmate Shooting
SPRINGFIELD (AP) - A law enforcement official tells The Associated Press that one of the men shot in Springfield allegedly by an escaped prisoner was the father of the man suspected of shooting the escapee's mother.
Authorities say Tamik Kirkland shot and wounded a barber and killed a customer on Saturday. Kirkland was injured in a shootout with police. Two police officers he allegedly shot survived.

The official says the 48-year-old barber wounded is the father of the suspected gunman who injured Kirkland's mother.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity Monday because that person wasn't authorized to release the information.
Kirkland's remains hospitalized in stable condition.

The barber, who hasn't been publicly identified, remains hospitalized in critical condition. Police say the customer killed was an innocent bystander.
