Q: How long have you owned the car?
A: We have owned the car for just one month, so we’d like to get to know her a little better before giving her a nickname. We bought it from Jeb’s dad after he upgraded to a brand new BMW 7 series.
Q: Lucky for you guys! What brings you to the Honan-Allston Library today?
A: We’re both big readers and like to support our local branch. It’s a great place to rent movies–for free!
Q: Do you read more books or watch more movies in a month?
A: We both read more books, although I’m the only one looking for an actual hardcover, since Jeb only does his reading on his iPad now. He’s just sweet enough to accompany me for my old-school hobbies.
Q: That’s nice of him. What is your car’s main use?
A: We take many trips to New Hampshire, grocery shopping, visits to see Jeb’s parents and nana, and currently, lots of vet appointments for our super fancy cat, Ernst.
Q: What a great name for a cat! Is Ernst sick?
A: He recently had ear surgery, so we have to take him back for follow-up visits every now and then.
Q: Poor thing. How does he feel about car rides?
A: He loves to travel, unlike any cat I’ve ever had. The backseat is pretty much a giant leather sofa, so he can’t really complain. He’s riding in style.
Q: Do you have any rules in your car?
A: Jeb would say one rule is to not leave behind half consumed cans of soda. I have a bad habit of doing that.
Q: If you could take a day trip right now, where would you go?
A: Kancamagus Highway. We love New Hampshire and the Kancamagus Highway is a favorite day trip of ours. Pulling over to lookouts, while trying to take photos with the self-timer from the hood of our car, is something we’ve been practicing a lot of lately.
Q: Who controls the radio on your road trips?
A: That’s where our travels can turn a bit ugly. We both like to think that we are in control of the music, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t listened to back-to-back Phish shows on more than a hundred occasions.
Q: Is a BMW your dream car?
A: It really is. We’ve already been looking into what our next BMW will be in, eh, probably ten years. Plus, this baby has a heated steering wheel, so there is really no doubt it’s a dream car.
