THE DEFENSE

Q: Hi Rachael! What are you doing here in the Channel Center?

A: I'm a wedding and event planner and I was actually doing a site visit here. I have a bride and groom getting married at Barlow's at the end of May.

Q: Can you tell me a little bit about your car?

A: It's a 2007 Jeep Commander. It's black and I love it. It's a monster and it protects me. It was the closest thing I could get to a Range Rover. I like the boxy look of it.

Q: When did you purchase it?

A: In 2009, when I started my business. There was something like 20,000 miles on it, if that. It had really low mileage. Now I'm at almost 80,000.

Q: So, you do a lot of driving?

A: Tons of driving. Fifty percent of my time is spent in my car, driving to and from site visits. Whether it is meetings or visiting friends, I'm always in my car.

Q: Would you say you live in your car?

A: Yes. I even have a wardrobe in my car right now. At any given time, I could have 20 shepherd's hooks, 50 mason jars, booze and lots of personal things, like clothes or shoes that I'll need to change into. But, I definitely always have lots of boxes, Tupperware and décor for weddings and events.

Q: Sounds very random. Lastly, tell us, what's your absolute favorite feature of your Jeep Commander? What do you love about your ride?

A: The look of it and the fact that it doesn't care that I don't take great care of it. I just got an oil change and it was like 10,000 miles over due. I usually run around with the gas tank light flashing on empty for a couple of days, so the reliability!
