The Public Garden was one of the first American public botanical gardens, and it will whisk you back to Victorian times. The flower beds and trees surround you as you stroll through this luscious garden. Don't forget to stop to view the many memorials and sculptures, including the George Washington equestrian statue. On a sunny day, take a leisurely ride on the swan boats to get a better view of the lagoon.

This eclectic park offers something for everyone. Younger children will love to spend time on the jungle gym and at the tot lot, while older children can run and play in the open spaces. Families can spread a blanket on the lawn to enjoy a picnic lunch or watch the boats in Boston Harbor. Perhaps bring your sweetheart here and take a romantic stroll through the Memorial Rose Garden before sharing a kiss under the trellis.

This beautiful walkway along the waterfront takes you through the North End to South Boston and everywhere in between. History buffs can learn about the architecture and exhibits, and watch the ships near Castle Island. Head out early to see the sunrise over Dorchester beach, or make it a late night and take in the skyline from the parks in East Boston. Titus Sparrow Park is a lush, green park in the South End. There are many activities to do in the park and there are free community programs throughout the year. This park is situated right above an underground parking garage, which makes it easily accessible for visitors and locals alike. It covers 1.7 acres of land that is lush with foliage, and boasts a sculptural fountain that provides a whimsical feel. Seating here ranges from steel settees and teak benches to cafe chairs and tables alongside hundreds of feet of polished granite wall. You will forget you are in the city in this meticulously manicured park.
