The annual Trans-Siberian Orchestra show during the holiday season is one of Boston's favorite traditions. This year, the orchestra is touring its rock show, "The Christmas Attic," nationwide for the first time. The show will feature one of the orchestra's most popular hits, "Christmas Cannon," which hasn't been performed at shows in previous years. Those who are new to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra experience will love this progressive rock event that features modern takes on classical songs and has been a holiday tradition since the band's founding in 1996.

Enjoy a true classic tradition in downtown Boston with the annual Candlelight Carols at Trinity Church. The church's choir will lead the congregation and guests in singing songs that tell the Christmas story. This evening combined church service and concert is so popular that this year it will happen on two evenings: December 13 and December 14. However, we recommend getting there early to reserve a spot.

Another seasonal favorite is the Holiday Pops show by the beloved Boston Pops. Keith Lockhart's Pops will perform all of the holiday classics and invite the audience to sing along. This concert is perfect for the whole family, though infants and toddlers under the age of four are not permitted in the Boston Symphony Hall for evening performances. Luckily for young families, there are many matinee options throughout December.

The Boston Gay Men's Chorus is truly one of the city's lesser-known treasures. Each holiday season, the chorus sings Christmas classics to sold-out audiences. They even have a fun show on December 15, 2014 just for kids! Get a sneak peak of the show by watching last year's YouTube videos.
