Best Wedding Locations Around Boston

Choosing the perfect location for your wedding can be a difficult decision. Everybody is looking for something different, and your mom's or best friend's perfect choice may have nothing that makes your 'must' list. Here are some favorites in and the around the city to help you get started.

The Four Seasons Boston is on the high end of wedding venues, but the celebrations there are spectacular. The staff is attentive, and takes very good care of the bride, groom and their guests. The hotel has a Friday and Sunday package or a Saturday option. The Public Garden right across the street offers a beautiful option for your wedding day photos.

The ballroom at Mandarin Oriental is 4,200-square feet and can seat 310 for dinner and dancing. The room is paneled with blonde satinwood, marble trim and silk. Linked to the ballroom is the Lotus Suite, which is a private room for the bride and groom throughout the night. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a view of Back Bay.

Although built in 1901 as the summer retreat to Boston businessman Bradley Palmer, the Willowdale Estates only opened for weddings in 2007. In addition to the Topsfield mansion and grounds, the facility also takes care of catering. As with most facilities with outdoor sections, winter rates at Willowdale are reduced.

At Taj Boston there are three venues for weddings: the Grand Ballroom, the 1927 Dining Room, and The Roof. All three overlook the Public Garden. The ballroom is the largest of the rooms, with room for 100-260 guests for dinner and dancing. It is two stories high with balconies on three sides and a grand staircase down to the ballroom. The dining room can accommodate 150-180 guests. The roof can seat up to 130 guests.

The Harding Allen Estates were built in the 1920s and offers several options for weddings. There are rooms that can seat up to 275 guests, and the facility says it can handle weddings as small as 25 just as well. There are nine bedrooms in the mansion available for the wedding party.

The Westin Waterfront boasts on its website that it can accommodate weddings with 200 guests to 600 guests. Ceremonies can be held in the garden terrace; there's a grand foyer for cocktails; and then the Grand Ballroom can be set up as needed.

The Westin Copley has two options for weddings, the Staffordshire Room and the Essex Ballroom. The Staffordshire Room looks out at Copley Square and can accommodate up to 200 guests. The Essex Ballroom can seat 400 guests for dinner and dancing. Both are newly-renovated.

According to the Mansion on Turner Hill's website, in 1898 Charles Goodnough and Ann Proctor Rice of Boston commissioned William Rantoul to build a grand home. The mansion is the result. The home has plaster hand-molded ceilings, oak hardwood floors and hand-carved paneling.. The mansion and grounds have several areas for weddings, from gardens to the rooms within the mansion. There's also a tent on site that seats up to 250 guests. As with some of the other locations, winter weddings are offered at discounted rates.

The Fairmount Copley Plaza Hotel opened in 1912. Since then it's been the site of thousands of weddings. There are several venue options within the hotel in the Back Bay from the Grand Ballroom which can accommodate 400 guests, to the Oval Room which can seat 220 guests, to the St. James Room which can seat 120 guests.

Plenty of people go here for the links, there are also many who go to get linked. The clubhouse was built in 1880 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. There are three banquet rooms including the Oak Room, which can hold 40 people, and the Chestnut Room, which can accommodate up to 185 guests.
