Storm Threat…

While all eyes are on Hurricane Arthur right now…we need to monitor the thunderstorm situation this afternoon and most importantly this evening with Boston Pops Concert and fireworks at the Hatch Shell. Right now the air is primed for storm development…very warm and humid…and scattered storms are likely this afternoon.

Arthur?

As the heat and humidity continue to build here in New England this week the tropics may be heating up too. A cluster of thunderstorms is likely to get its act together and form into the first tropical system of the season off of the Southeastern United States.

Storm Chances…

A round of soaking rain-swept through early this morning and rain amounts were impressive…some communities picked up over an inch of rain in a very short amount of time resulting in some short-term street and parking lot flooding.

Another Good One…

It’s the first Monday of Summer and it seems the days just keep getting better and better. Today will be sun-filled and comfortably warm with near 80 inland and holding in the 70s along the coast with a developing gentile onshore breeze. Tomorrow muggier air begins to flow back in to Southern New England as a cold front gets closer and closer.

The Weekend…

Well we are sailing into the weekend and the weather couldn’t be better…not too hot, not too cold, low humidity, lots of sunshine and no rain! Seriously, this might be the best weekend of the Summer and speaking of the Summer, it begins tomorrow morning at 6:51. Temperatures over the weekend will mostly be in the 70s, a few spots may nudge 80 and that would occur away from the coast and any sea breeze.

So Long Heat…

A cold front slipped through earlier this morning pushing the heat and humidity out of here for the foreseeable future. I use the word heat loosely here because we didn’t even touch 90…87 was the best we could do.

Heat Building…

So we just had a couple of stunning days…sunny, warm yet very low humidity. That’s all about to change as heat and humidity will build in over the next couple of days. We have yet to touch 90 degrees here in Boston this year and the last time we did was last September. The average date for the first 90 degree day is June 8th…so we aren’t too far off.
