Ladies and gentlemen, I’m tired of winter. I can’t take more, not one iota.
Snow will move in between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Winter Storm Warnings and Watches have been issued for tonight through Tuesday.
Today will be sunny and cold as highs only hang near the middle 30s. Clouds will be taking over this evening ahead of this big winter storm…Winter’s last hurrah, literally! Tomorrow, the last full day of Winter, will look like a winter wonderland for most of us.
Here are the latest snowfall totals from Rob Macedo, the SKYWARN Coordinator for the National Weather Service in Taunton:
Why did we get so much more snow than expected Friday?
There were plenty of people late for work and school Friday morning and many of them were angry with meteorologists and plow crews.
Snow totals are widely variable throughout the region with just a few inches in some areas all the way up 12-to-24 inches in parts of Worcester County and southeastern Massachusetts.
A late-winter storm that buried parts of the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic swept into New England on Thursday, bringing snow, rain, strong winds, big waves and fears of coastal flooding.
A fresh layer of several inches of snow will coat the ground and many roads by Friday morning’s commute, leading to some tricky and treacherous travel. Snow will continue all morning and finally begin to taper off during Friday afternoon.
