Boston Bans Smoking At City Parks

Boston Police and Boston Park Rangers will be enforcing the ordinance which is punishable by a fine of $250.

Daily Talker: Boston Parks Smoking Ban

Mayor Tom Menino is expected to sign a bill banning smoking in Boston’s public parks. When it takes effect in a few months, anyone violating the ordinance could face a $250 fine.

The Boston Globe reports the ban would include cigarettes, marijuana, and electronic cigarettes in more than 250 parks, squares, cemeteries, and other open spaces managed by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
