I would never talk that way to almost anyone, certainly not to a state’s Chief Executive, but ya know what folks, I’m getting a bit tired of that trash-talkin’ guy from New Jersey known as Chris Christie.
We do have a string of nice weather to enjoy with sun filled skies. Highs today will be near 50 under slightly breezy and brisk conditions. The coldest air of the season is sliding into New England late tonight behind a weak cold front and light NW winds. Clear skies with diminishing wind will allow most areas outside of the city and away from the coast to drop below freezing overnight.
Long Beach Island is still closed to homeowners. The narrow stretch of land was completely overwhelmed by the storm surge during Hurricane Sandy.
As odd as it seems, President Barack Obama and Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey are in the midst of a marvelous “bromance”.
In addition to the staffers sent to New York, Massachusetts has deployed a search and rescue team to Connecticut and New York, and sent two National Guard Blackhawk helicopters to New Jersey.
Historically, this storm will rival many of the past storms that have impacted New England. Not only will the track be unique, but also the intensity will be one for the record books…with minimum pressures falling to levels comparable to some of our greatest hurricanes! Just Incredible.
The oldest power plant in the state is now slated to come tumbling down sometime in 2014.
Our wave of low pressure along a stalled front south of New England is slowly pulling off the coast. The heaviest rain is shifting east and will be pulling off the coast after midnight. Showers will still linger through the overnight as another batch in N. New Jersey will skirt through CT & RI over night. Sunday morning will start off damp with the low off the coast of Nantucket with low clouds and drizzle.
