Lawyers say Ibragim Todashev was recovering from a knee injury that would have made it difficult for him to attack law enforcement officers.
The top prosecutor in Orlando said Thursday that he will review what led to the fatal shooting of a Chechen immigrant during questioning by the FBI.
Officials originally said Todashev had lunged at an FBI agent with a knife. They later backtracked and said it was no longer clear what happened.
Ibragim Todashev was killed in May while being questioned by FBI agents, Massachusetts state troopers and others.
Multiple sources tell the I-Team that the suspect, Ibrahim Todashev, flipped over a table, grabbed what appeared to be a metal pole, and lunged at the FBI agent before that agent fired.
The father of a Chechen immigrant killed while being interrogated by the FBI about his ties to a Boston Marathon bombings suspect says agents killed his son “execution style.”
The group is asking the Department of Justice division to open a formal probe into how Ibragim Todashev died.
The man shot and killed by an FBI agent while being questioned about his ties to a Boston Marathon bombings suspect had been arrested in a road rage incident in Boston in 2010.
