Potential Free Agent Targets For 2013 Celtics

Until the dust settles on the Celtics-Nets blockbuster trade, we don't really know what the 2013-14 Boston Celtics will look like. But Danny Ainge will have his work cut out for him as he tries to rebuild his team, with this season -- and perhaps a few more -- a bridge to something better. There have been a lot of rumors about the Celtics pursuing Smith -- who also happens to be a former high school teammate of Rajon Rondo. But it's unlikely the Celtics will have the money or cap space to lure the versatile (and moody) forward to Boston. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

A return of Big Al is a possibility, but he will likely command a big-money contract after making $15 million last season with the Jazz. Jefferson averaged 17.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game for Utah last season. (Photo by Melissa Majchrzak/NBAE via Getty Images)

Maxiell has always been a solid role player for the Pistons, and may finally be able to get out of Detroit this summer. His versatility and knack for rebounding would help Boston. (Photo by Sam Forencich/NBAE via Getty Images)

Dalembert has never really lived up to his potential, but put together a decent season in Milwaukee in 2012-13. Seen mostly as a backup, he could be a big body off the bench for the Celtics. (Photo by Rocky Widner/NBAE via Getty Images)

Pekovic put up career numbers in Minnesota last season, averaging 16.3 points and 8.8 rebounds over 62 games -- all starts. The 27-year-old Yugoslavian has great post-up skills under the basket, but will likely make a pretty penny this summer, which could price him out of Boston's range. Hickson is not a star, but he can put up some good stats as a rotational big man. He averaged 12.7 points and 8.8 rebounds for the Blazers in 2012-13, and will turn just 25-years-old in September. (Photo by Sam Forencich/NBAE via Getty Images)

Blair had his worst year in San Antonio in 2012-13, averaging just 5.4 points and 3.8 rebounds, and seeing just 14 minutes over 61 games. Evans has never lived up to his potential since being drafted fourth overall in 2009. He's battled injuries and inconsistencies, but could be a good fit for the rebuilding C's as a low risk, low cost guard. (Photo by Fernando Medina/NBAE via Getty Images)
