What: Tall Ships Commemorate 200th Anniversary of War of 1812

When: June 30 – July 5, 2012

Where: Boston Harbor

Fish Pier
Pier 4
North Jetty
Black Falcon Terminal

International tall ships, active Navy ships, and ships of America’s coalition partners will descend on Boston Harbor this coming week as part of festivities to commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812. The week-long party will include US Navy Leapfrogs Parachute Jumps, concerts, and much more.

Festivities kick off on June 30. Many of the ships will be open for public viewing starting at 10 a.m. The Tall Ships events coincide with Boston Harborfest.

Visit The Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau or OpSail Boston for a full schedule of public viewing times and events.

USS Constitution

The oldest commissioned naval vessel still afloat was active in the War of 1812.

USCG Barque Eagle

The U.S. Coast Guard Academy owns this 290-foot long sail training ship. Eagle always leads the Parade of Sail.

This 249-foot long full-rigged tall ship is owned by Brazil’s Navy. She’s only about 14 years old.

DEWARUCCI (Indonesia)

Dewaruci is owned and operated by the Indonesian Navy. She’s the only tall ship mast ship of the Barquentine (three or more masts).

Don’t Miss: The Blue Angels July 4th Fly-Over

July 4
12 Noon

The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Team, the famed Blue Angels will perform high precision aviation acts during a 45-minute show. The jets will take over the skies as the USS Constitution and the USCGC Barque Eagle participate in their turn-around cruise and 21 gun salute in the Boston Harbor. The US Navy Leapfrogs Parachute Team will also participate in the celebration. Their jump at 12:17 p.m. is one of five that will take place during the week.
