Monday saw breaking news out of Bruins camp, where the team shored up their top goal scorer from a year ago as they signed Brad Marchand to an 8-year contract extension worth $48 million. Zolak and Bertrand react to the deal that will keep #63 in town for the foreseeable future.
Zo, Bertrand and Dan Shaughnessy of The Boston Globe take stock of the Patriots quarterback situation after it was revealed that Jacoby Brissett will need surgery for a thumb ligament, but may still be able to play. While the team doesn't appear too antsy to give up another roster spot for a new signal caller, it would appear that the quarterback situation will be dicey when the Bills come to town on Sunday.
The Red Sox swept the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend to get to 11 wins in a row and dwindle the magic number down to 2. The team is riding an incredible hot streak at the seemingly right time, which has many optimistic that the team can make a great run in the postseason. But Zolak and Bertrand opened Monday's show wondering if this hot streak could lead to a lull at the wrong time.
