CONCORD (CBS) – The State Police bomb squad was called into Concord Wednesday morning after the discovery of what initially appeared to be an old cannonball.
It was found during a construction project in a backyard at Lang and Monument streets near the historic Concord Revolutionary War battleground.
Police evacuated the area as a precaution. No one was hurt.
The “cannonball” turned out to be an ornamental piece.
No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
