Dramatic Video Shows Worker Fighting, Throwing Possibly Rabid Fox

TOPSHAM, Maine (CBS) – A possibly rabid fox attacked a Maine worker Tuesday morning in a frightening encounter that was all captured on surveillance video.

Courtney Garrison of Grimmel Industries, a metal recycling company in Topsham, says the fox jumped out from under a tractor-trailer and went after the worker, biting his leg.

The worker can be seen trying to dodge the aggressive fox before grabbing it and flinging it in the air, but the animal gets up and chases after him again.

Garrison said the worker is OK and is being vaccinated to protect against rabies.

WGME identified the attacked worker as Mark Sleeper.

Another one of the truck drivers saw the fox return to the area about 12 hours later and ran it over.

A game warden came to collect the dead fox, and is in the process of determining if it had rabies.

Garrison said she's glad the fox was killed because there's a preschool nearby.
