BOWDOINHAM, Maine (CBS) – A pilot escaped injury after making an emergency landing on a Maine highway Tuesday morning.

The small plane landed on the southbound side of Interstate 295 in Bowdoinham around 10:15 a.m.

After colliding with the guardrail, the plane came to a rest in an upright position.

Despite the precarious looking landing, the pilot walked away from the wreck.

Maine State Police said the plane’s emergency landing did not impact traffic.
