Report: Gronkowski, Blount, Edelman All Fined For Actions Vs. Bengals

BOSTON (CBS) -- Things got a little heated on the field late last weekend at Gillette Stadium, and now some Patriots have been forced to pay up.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Rob Gronkowski, LeGarrette Blount and Julien Edelman were each fined $9,115 for actions vs. the Bengals on Sunday.

Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick was also fined $9,115, while Vontaze Burfict was fined $75,000, as has been reported.

Gronkowski was fined, presumably, for taunting cornerback Adam Jones and Kirkpatrick on successive plays in the fourth quarter, both of which helped ignite confrontations with Burfict.

Blount was fined, presumably, for shoving Burfict to the turf after Burfict had stepped on Blount's leg after Blount had scored a touchdown.

The reason for Edelman's fine is less clear. He drew a 15-yard facemask penalty on Kirkpatrick late in the fourth quarter, but Edelman actually got more of Kirkpatrick's facemask on the play with a stiff-arm attempt. Edelman's grab and pull on the facemask might have been enough to draw the fine.
