‘My Kids Are Watching!’ Parents Upset By R-Rated Red Sox Celebration

NEW YORK (CBS) – The champagne was flowing, the corks were flying, and some F-bombs were dropped.

NESN aired the Red Sox locker room celebration unfiltered after Boston clinched the AL East in strange fashion Wednesday night.

And parents who let their little Sox fans stay up for the occasion found themselves needing to cover their kids’ ears as some players let the expletives fly.

Some took to Twitter to blast NESN for not censoring the salty language.

NESN hasn’t replied to any of the angry viewers yet, but it will be interesting to see if they deploy the “bleep” button if there are future celebrations in store for the Red Sox this season.

What’s to celebrate? The division was already won, and they just blew a game they should have easily won. As a lifelong Red Sox fan I’m ashamed of them for their actions last night, both on and off the field.

I put this one on Farrell. He has responsible for many of those one and two run losses all year long. Vasquez is their best defensive catcher and game caller. I don’t think Kelly would have grooved one right down the middle to Teixera like he did with Vasquez calling the pitches. I imagine Johnny F will get a fat new extension on his contract, but he could be gone and the Red Sox would not miss him one iota.

Your kids should be in bed. They won nothing. Maybe let them stay up for the ALCS or World Series. If your kids are old enough to be up then chances are they already know that word quite well.

  4. Mike says:

I find it hard to believe that your kids never heard someone curse. If you want to shelter your kids from reality move somewhere off the grid or put them to bed at 9 pm.

    1. Chantecler says:

First of all, Mike, you don’t know how old those kids were. And that kind of language is offensive to anyone who has a decent sense of morality. Maybe some of us just live in a different reality.
The Sox should have been too embarrassed to be celebrating anyway. They didn’t win it, it was handed to them as a gift from the Jays and Orioles.

I am so sick of the pussification of our society. First off,why were kids that young up that late? They should have kept it off TV,so they can have a good time. People get over it!

  6. Coco says:

To all you parents who didn’t know what to do when the F bombs were going off…….try parenting. Here is an example: These MEN who had a great year are celebrating

The mute button on your remote not working?

  8. Dezzy says:

I REALLY hate people who are under the impression that everyone else is responsible for parenting their children! “Oh my gosh, grown up men are using grown up words!”…Should I a) mute the TV? b) change the channel? c)send them from the room? d) use this as an opportunity to educate? e) take to twitter to cry and moan about my displeasure? Get a GRIP!!!

    1. Chantecler says:

“Grown up” words??? Are you kidding me? Comments like that are juvenile, and any idiot teenager and younger knows them. That is not the point. Those players have a duty to act as role models for the younger set, and they failed miserably.

    Ever use the on/off button?

    1. BleedingBlackandGold says:

Exactly. If people don’t want their kids to see it or hear it, shut it off instead of whining about it. Blame the broadcaster for not doing their job of bleeping out the F-bombs.

  10. Kevin says:

The words are not grown up. A team that has 1 of the very highest in baseball was recently bounced out of the playoffs. Farrell , of course, was outmanaged by Francona and now we’ll get to see Francona vs Theo in about a week!!!
