NightSide - Release the Video?

BOSTON (CBS) - Today the wife of Keith Lamont Scott, the black man shot dead by police, released a video from her phone of her husband being shot. Although the there is no clear view of the gun fire, you can hear some of the conversation with the police and also the sound of gun shots. By releasing this video, did Scott's family force the hand of Charlotte police to review their video of the incident? Should she have waited to release her video? Should the police have already release the video that they have?
