SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP/CBS) — Allen Iverson was a no-show for the pre-induction news conference at the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame on Thursday, a day before he was scheduled to become a member of the basketball shrine.
We’re not talking about the induction ceremony.
We’re talking about an availability that’s a sort of, you know, practice for the actual event.
We know that the Hall of Famer was never one for practice during his playing days, so even though it’s rare for inductees to miss the Thursday event, this really shouldn’t come as any surprise:
There was no immediate explanation for Iverson’s absence, but he did eventually show up to the event:
Among the others to be inducted at Symphony Hall on Friday night are Shaquille O’Neal, Yao Ming and Michigan State coach Tom Izzo.
