Driver Sought In Yarmouth Hit And Run

YARMOUTH (CBS) -- Police are looking for the driver of a car that struck a woman walking on Route 6A in Yarmouthport Monday night.

A 23-year-old woman was walking eastbound with a friend around 10 p.m. when she was hit. There are no sidewalks in the area and both people were walking with their back to traffic dressed all in black, police said.

A witness told police the sedan had square taillights and continued traveling towards Dennis.

The woman declined medical treatment.

Yarmouth Police says the incident serves as a reminder that all pedestrians should walk facing traffic and should wear bright clothing and carry a flashlight at night.
