Pedestrian Struck, Seriously Injured In South Boston

SOUTH BOSTON (CBS) -- Massachusetts State Police are investigating after a Quincy woman was struck by a vehicle.

State Police said the crash happened around 7:50 p.m. on William J. Day Boulevard.

The 45-year-old woman who was hit was taken to Boston Medical Center with injuries that appeared to be life threatening, police said.

Police said the driver was a 75-year-old Randolph man.

Day Boulevard was closed between the McCormack Bath House and the nearby rotary as police investigated the crash.

An accident recon team was on scene late Saturday night to see if any charges against the driver were warranted. More information was not yet available.
