Man Stabbed Several Times After Road Rage Incident In Worcester

WORCESTER (CBS) - A 43-year-old man is recovering after he was stabbed several times during a fight that police said started from road rage.

Worcester police said two drivers were heading down Lincoln Street from opposite directions.

They said witnesses told them that both drivers wanted to turn on Goldthwaite Road, when the suspect turned first, allegedly cutting off the victim.

That started an argument between the two drivers. The male suspect had a female passenger in his car. The victim had two people in his car.

Both drivers pulled over, stepped out of their vehicles and started fighting. Police said the suspect stabbed the victim multiple times in his upper body.

When police arrived on scene, he was conscious and alert when EMS and Worcester firefighters were treating him. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.

The father of a witness described to WBZ what his son told him he saw.

"He was sitting in the gazebo and he heard a commotion and he looked out and he saw pushing and shoving and then he saw one guy get in the car and drive away," explained John McGrath.

Police said they have identified the suspects but have not yet made any arrests.
