Man Recently Released From Jail Accused Of Stabbing Salem Woman

SALEM (CBS) - The man charged in the stabbing and beating of a Salem woman last week is being held without bail while the victim is hospitalized with a stab wound to an eye, broken jaw, and the loss of most of her teeth.

The warrant for Peter Turco says he and the victim's ex-boyfriend, Evan Kinlock, were members of a jail house gang called "Crazy White Boyz." Turco is a career criminal with an extensive record. He had been released from jail on July 11, four days before the attack.

The victim, Sarah Turner, believes he was acting on behalf of her ex, telling police that Turco said, "Evan was going to get between your relationship somehow."

Turner's sister Shannon said, "he was trying to kill her, there's no way he could have thought that he was just sending her some message."

Sarah was able to give police Turco's name and identify him in a photo array. She told police he forced his way into her home on Friday when she got home from work and stabbed and beat her.

The judge said the photos of her injuries are some of the worst he's ever seen.

"The more details I hear of the attack the more I am so happy that she was able to survive this. I still have a little sister and that is one of the most important things," Shannon said.

She faces several surgeries and a GoFundMe page has been opened on her behalf.

Shannon said she is relieved her sister's attacker has been caught.

"I'm hoping that this helps with the progress of her healing. She was petrified when she was in the hospital that this person was going to come back and try to finish the job," Shannon said.

Sarah is in a new dating relationship since breaking up with Kinlock close to a year ago.
