In nearby Plaistow, NH, a woman says she was going to the bank when she got stuck on the road between two downed trees.

"The tree fell and then it started down pouring and things were hitting my car, I thought I was in the middle of a tornado, it was that bad," Jennifer Andrew told WBZ.

NH emergency officials say power outages, downed trees, localized flooding and property damage have been reported by communities in Carroll, Coos, Hillsborough, and Rockingham counties. Unitil says about 1,000 customers lost power in Plaistow. Crews anticipate the power will be restored by Tuesday.

Some trees were uprooted; others sheared off at the top. Residents will not soon forget the quick but violent storm: "Sounded like a locomotive going right through here, right through!" said Mark Bujnowski. He said his only thought was to "get out" but he didn't know where to go.

The Greater Boston area also got sacked by the storms. In West Roxbury, a tree fell onto a home on Bonair Street.

On LaGrange Street, two trees fell blocking traffic and narrowly missing the home of Jen Saksa and her young baby.

"I was just waiting to bring the baby in because I knew it had been raining bad. I mean, thank God, because if I had been walking in then the tree could have fallen on us," Saksa said.

Framingham and Wellesley saw similar damage. One massive tree fell into a building near the Dana Hall School.

In Hingham, the strong winds blew boats off their stands.

No injuries were reported.
