Driver Rescued After Being Trapped Under Live Wires In Dorchester

BOSTON (CBS) – A power pole crashed down onto a car in Dorchester, trapping the driver inside under live electrical wires. The crash knocked out power to hundreds of homes.

Witness Tracy Brown says it was like a scene out of a movie. "I saw the pole take it's time going down and then it just fall on the car," she said.

Brown was working at the Jamaican restaurant across the street when the pole with a transformer fell onto the car.

"He couldn't move," Brown said.

Police say the man crashed into the pole, causing it to fall.

Brown says the driver was scared and didn't say anything.

Emergency crews waited for power crews to cut the electricity.

The man was able to walk out of the car and was rushed into an ambulance.

The Four Corners neighborhood in Dorchester was without power for about two and a half hours.
